About Nicola
My name is Nicola Tillin and I’m currently working for Incisive Media, a specialist publishing company based in London, in its Alternative Assets division. I’ve worked in media for over 15 years – firstly straight out of university with Reed Business Information, where I was for 8 years – then 2 years with a small privately owned publishing company specialising in the air cargo and defence industries before moving to Incisive in 2004.
I started out my career with RBI in their industrial/commercial marketing division – product, brand, subscriptions, online services and events – and was then asked to move over the sales management side of the marketing/sales function to bring these two disciplines closer together.
I’ve successfully managed all kinds of sales and marketing teams – with huge amounts of experience in managing large, disparate groups of people based both in the UK and in international offices. I’ve also been fortunate enough to be involved with integrating teams from acquired businesses which has given me experience of bringing together different, and sometimes clashing, working cultures.
I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy every business I’ve worked for and have always worked with some truly talented, fun, bright people – and of course, on great brands which always helps.
I’ve learnt from working for a huge corporate, a small privately-owned family style business and a hungry, fast-growing, ambitious company – and had a blast at each one.
